Persephone’s initial reluctance/hesitation in accepting the underworld and then committing to returning, in order to continue the cycle of four seasons, each vital to life, is exactly what inner journey feels like. There’s no better guide than the one who has been to the depths of their own being.

Precisely! It’s also a beautiful metaphor of both the Maiden and the Queen being in one person and complimenting each other when you mature.
